Instagram For Your Business Part 1

Instagram For Your Business Part 1
Social media continues to become more and more important for businesses. Instagram has become one of the most effective forms of social media. If your business does not have its own Instagram account, you could be missing out on an excellent way to connect with your current and future customers. But just putting out content is not enough. Learning how to use Instagram's features can help elevate your business to the next level.

Why A Business Account
Opening an Instagram business account allows you to access extra features. Through a business account, you get real-time stats on how your stories and posts perform throughout the day. You also get information that will help you understand how your followers interact with your posts and stories. Learning how your customers interact with your stories and posts allows you to understand your customers better and therefore connect with them in a more personal way.

An Instagram business account also offers some options not available to personal accounts. A business account allows you to include your email address, phone number and a physical address so customers can connect with you directly from your profile. There is a category option which gives a short description of what your business does. A business account also has Call-to-action buttons available. These allow your customers to easily get information or buy something, all from your Instagram profile. For more information about what a Call-to-action button is, check out our blog here.

Acquire Your Target
Before you can start posting content on Instagram, you need to determine your target audience. Who are you trying to connect with through your Instagram posts and stories? Most of the people who use Instagram are under the age of 35 and it's pretty even between men and women. This is important information to have, but you should go beyond the overall Instagram demographics to define the target audience of your business.

There are some simple things you can do to determine who falls into your target audience. First, determine who is already a customer. What's their age? Where are they located? What's their stage of life? Then, check the statistics on other social media platforms to find out who follows you there. You can research your competitors by checking out their social media sites to see what type of people are following them. You also need to have a clear value statement for your business. A value statement informs the customers and employees about the top priorities and core beliefs of a company.

Once you have an clearer view of who your customers are, think about what type of content would be beneficial from you. What do your customers post on their accounts? How do they connect with competitors?
