Christmas Time Is Here…For Your Business

Christmas Time Is Here…For Your Business
"Christmas Time Is Here" is a song from A Charlie Brown Christmas. My Christmas Day is not complete until I watch this classic. The end of the first verse says, "Fun for all that children call, Their favorite time of year." Well, it's not just children's favorite time of year and it could be a fun and profitable time for your business as well. As Christmas rapidly approaches, here are some ideas that might help you and your business get in the Christmas spirit.

Branding For Christmas
At Christmas many houses are decorated to the nines, but many businesses don't feel the need to do the same. I'm not talking about a Christmas tree in the office. Your brand needs some decorating as well. Add a Christmas tree or reindeer to your logo. Or maybe just an easy color change for the month of December. Red and green are very popular during this time of year.

Throw some Christmas cheer on your website with some virtual snow or Christmas graphics. You know your brand and what images of Christmas will incorporate easily. This may bring a little cheer to your customers and website visitors.

Christmas Social
This may seem like a no-brainer, but you need to have your social media posts planned out and scheduled for the holidays. Everybody is busy and the holidays are even busier. So don't put it off any more. Decide what you're going to post and use a social media schedule manager, like Tommy House Studios.

Your social media should be geared towards Christmas in December. There are many creative ways to do this. You could design a new festive cover photo. Have a contest where your customers submit Christmas pictures or drawings that relate to your products or services. You could take pictures of your employees in Christmas settings that are both fun and funny. Any of these should put a smile on your customers' faces.

Christmas Is For Giving
Give back to your loyal customers during the Christmas season. Everybody likes to receive gifts, right? And you don't have to spend a lot of money. Free vouchers and discounts are great ways to give back and your loyal customers will appreciate it.

Christmas is also a great time for charitable giving. There are so many charities out there that do great work and could really use a monetary gift at Christmas. Not only will you feel good in doing it, you can get a tax deduction. Everybody wins.

Fun, Fun, Fun
Don't forget to have some fun at Christmas time. Many people are so serious and could use a few laughs. Have an ugly Christmas sweater contest with your staff. Then post the pictures on social media or your website and let your customers vote for the winner. This could also bring some new eyes to your online content. Who knows. One of these ugly sweater pictures could go viral!

A fun Christmas party for the staff could be a morale booster. Lots of people feel lonely during the holidays. A staff Christmas party could be the perfect remedy for a lonely soul. But please make sure it's fun. I've been to office Christmas parties that have been a snoozefest. Just give your employees a party that will boost their Christmas spirit.

Christmas Blogs
This one is easy—add some Christmas content to your website. They can be funny Christmas stories or childhood traditions. You can write about your favorite Christmas memory. Your customers want to know more about the owners of the businesses they buy products or receive services from. Any interesting Christmas blogs will add great content for your website.

Takeaway
Be creative at Christmas. This is an opportune time to connect with your customers in a way you might not be able to the rest of the year. It's also a great time to give back to your loyal customers. And most of all, try to enjoy the Christmas season. We're all busy, so please take a little time to thank your customers and employees. Merry Christmas from Tommy House Studios!
